EV Charging Prices in Türkiye 2026: AC and DC per kWh

AC and DC per-kWh prices at public charging stations in Türkiye, why operators differ, and how to calculate what a charging session will cost you.

What is the price range in 2026?

At public charging stations in Türkiye, prices vary by operator, location and charging power. The general picture as of 2026:

TypeMarket rangeCheckpoint
AC (11–22 kW)₺6 – 12 /kWh₺7.89
DC fast (120–240 kW)₺11 – 16 /kWh₺9.49

After EPDK moved to a flexible pricing regime, almost every charging network raised its tariff. At some operators DC charging reached ₺16.5/kWh.

Why is there such a gap between AC and DC?

The difference is not in the socket — it is in the investment behind it:

  • AC stations rely on the car's own on-board converter. The unit is relatively simple and the grid connection is smaller.
  • DC stations do the conversion themselves. A 120 kW unit needs serious transformer capacity, active cooling and far more expensive power electronics.

So DC fast charging always costs more than AC — but it puts you back on the road in 22–30 minutes.

How is your cost calculated?

The formula is simple: energy delivered (kWh) × unit price. There is no per-minute charge; you pay for what enters your battery.

Taking a 60 kWh battery from 20% to 80% requires roughly 36 kWh. On the Checkpoint DC tariff: 36 × 9.49 = ₺341.64.

The last 20% of a battery fills more slowly because the battery management system tapers the current to protect the pack — which makes it inefficient in both time and money. That is why most drivers unplug at 80%.

What drives the price?

It comes down to how the operator sources its electricity. An operator buying from the grid carries distribution fees and taxes. Operators with their own generation skip part of that chain.
